Join us this Friday at the AC Hotel to welcome Dr. Dana Rickman, the president of the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. Before becoming President, Dr. Rickman served as vice president and as research and policy director. In those roles, she led the EdQuest Georgia Coalition, coordinated the Education Policy Fellows Program (EPFP) and was the primary author of the Georgia Partnership’s annual Top Ten Issues to Watch report and the Economics of Education.

It's just two weeks until the Georgia Rotary Student Program Class of 23-24 scholars arrive in Dunwoody for a weekend filled with fun, service projects and leadership experiences. The 42 students in this year's class are amazing - and we invite each and every one of you to play a part in the weekend's festivities. It's an international experience that's only minutes away from home - all activities take place at the Dunwoody Annex on North Shallowford.
There are plenty of responsibilities - Big to Small - so contact Meredith Morris or Jackie Cuthbert to learn about how you can help. We still need two or three hosts for the weekend and volunteers to help with registration, the Rise Against Hunger event, gathering supplies, set-up, and refreshing our snack supply, setting up for lunch Saturday.
This year, we're inviting all our host families and volunteers to join us for pizza and game night at the Annex on Friday. Let Meredith know if you're coming, and bring your favorite game to share!
Saturday night dinners will be on your own with your students. Contact Jennie Stipick if you would like to join up with other host families for Saturday night.
On Friday afternoon, students will pack 10,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger. Saturday, they hear about the Civil Rights Movement, consider what their own legacy might be, and participate in a Courageous Leadership discussion. And Sunday, they'll be in competition as they design practical, focused service projects that could make a difference in the world.
Dave Burr saw this post about a change in DeKalb County's water/sewer billing numbers on NextDoor and thought it would be useful for many of our members.
