This Week's Speaker
The Honorable Chris Carr, Attorney General, State of Georgia

Join us this Friday at Maggiano's to welcome the Honorable Chris Carr, Attorney General of the State of Georgia. Appointed to this position by then Governor Nathan Deal in 2016, Carr was re-elected in November 2022.

This is a great opportunity to bring a friend to Rotary, particularly someone who might be interested in joining the club.  [read more]

Another March 13 Meeting Opportunity - DeKalb Rotary Council Breakfast

It is time for the annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and this year the event will be held on March 13, 2026, at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Rotarians and their guests are invited. Breakfast is catered by Edible Heirloom and will be served beginning at 7:30am. Please let Rick Woods know if you will be attending this breakfast.  As always, each DeKalb County Rotary Club will honor a teacher of the year and name a Rotarian to be honored as its Bill Mulkey Show Rotary Cares Award, in honor of our own PDG and President Emeritus Bill Mulkey. The Council will also honor one of our DeKalb County Rotarians with the Bob Grant You are the Key award. Our keynote speaker will be Nicole M. Golden, DeKalb County Tax Commissioner.

Service Opportunity
We'll Be Waiting for You at Bounds Gardens - March 14

We might be donning sweatshirts and warmer clothes than the picture indicates, but we'll be at the traffic island across from the Dunwoody Library - affectionately known to us as "Bounds Gardens" on Saturday, March 14 at 9:00 am. Bring your garden gloves, your favorite garden tool and your love of Rotary fellowship! The more the merrier - and the quicker the work is done!

Fellowship Opportunity
Wine Fellowship Goes Irish - Sunday, March 15

Join us for a cup of St. Patrick's Day cheer at the Barden's home on Sunday, March 15 from 3-5 pm. Jud Shumway will be playing some Irish music, and we'll be serving Irish coffees and wine. Bring a bottle of wine and an appetizer to share. You'll find the Bardens at 5576 Colbert Trail in Peachtree Corners. Please RSVP by text or phone call to Louise at 404 423-8236, or by email to lbarden@comcast.net.

Golf Tournament Update
To Repeat or Not Repeat, That is the Question

Shakespeare will not be joining us for this year's FORE! The Memories Golf Tournament, but the question of the week could be one of his: Do you want to help the Rotary Club of Dunwoody repeat and even better our golf tournament fund-raising results by lending your support as a sponsor or a donor to the auction?

If you plan to be a sponsor - repeat or not - let us know as soon as you can, so we can thank you publicly on our website -  FORE! the Memories – Rotary Club of Dunwoody Charity Golf Tournament and inspire the public to contribute more to this successful event.

Have an auction item? Have restaurants or vendors you can contact for an item? Let Neal MacDonald, Jennifer Shumway or Meredith Morris know now!

If you have questions on anything about our May 18 golf tournament at St. Marlo, please contact Bob O'Brien.

Service Opportunity
We Want You at the USO: April 8

Wednesday April 8, 2026 will be Rotary Club of Dunwoody USO Volunteer Day. We will serve our service personnel and family members an “All American” lunch of hot dogs with all the condiments, potato chips, fresh fruit, snack bars, cookies, bottled water plus a portion of baked Ziti & Momma’s meatball.

We would like to have eight volunteers for the day from 9 AM to 3 PM. Duties vary from greeter, hot dog grill mate, server, bag monitor among other to do items that need to be done to serve our military service personnel. We are also looking for cookies, water and snack bar donations. Read more. [read more]

Getting to Know You
The Unstoppable Jennie Stipick

If you’ve ever wondered what "Rotary Grit" looks like, look no further than Jennie Stipick. While her journey began in a large Dallas club as a corporate assignment, Jennie’s heart quickly found its rhythm within the spirit of Service Above Self. Upon returning to Atlanta, she sought a club that offered a genuine connection. Despite her self-proclaimed dislike for Friday morning meetings, she joined our ranks—knowing a morning start wouldn't eat up her entire day, leaving more time for the work that matters.

Sponsored by Mike Feeney and welcomed by then-President Doug Wright, Jennie dove in headfirst. Her first "initiation"? Prepping for the 4th of July parade at Bob Hall’s house. Since then, she has been a pillar of leadership, serving as Club President (2001–2002), Assistant Governor (2002–2003), and many other roles.

Jennie’s favorite memories aren't the formal dinners, but the "boots on the ground" moments—even the messy ones, like cleaning out a rat-infested shed at the Nature Center. To Jennie, Rotary is unique because when things look their worst, we rally while others make excuses. Looking ahead, Jennie hopes to see us champion a hands-on international project in the Caribbean or Latin America, reminiscent of our wheelchair delivery project in Costa Rica. She believes the true magic of Rotary happens when we look into the eyes of those we serve.

And Travels Too! Late last month, Jennie and her three sisters headed  to Spain and Portugal to reconnect with family and honor their mother’s Spanish heritage. We wish her a "Buen viaje!" and can't wait to hear about the trip.

Jennie is pictured with her husband, Mike, their children, and their grandchildren.

Time is Running Out to Cast Your Votes for Best of Perimeter

Your last chance to vote for your favorites in the 2026 Appen Media Group Best of Perimeter competition is fast approaching. We are proud to have several Rotarians and friends of RCD who have been nominated for 2026 recognition. Topping the list with six nominations is Charlie Augello and the E.48th St. Market. You can help by voting for these businesses between February 15 and 18 - just go to

Dave is Getting Ready for 2026-27

President Elect Dave Burr joined more than 200 club leaders from across Georgia this past weekend earlier this month with Cynthia Edwards, the District Governor for the 2026-2027 term. He also met Kate Keator, who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dunwoody to become the first Rotary Peace Fellow from our district.

Carter Stout addressed the entire district with an overview of Rotary Means Business, Ray Huebschmann represented Laws of Life at their booth, and Ardy Bastien led an early Sunday morning breakout session, Time of Inspiration.
