His investments in companies include ownership stakes in a minor league baseball team, an investment bank specializing in middle market companies, a home furnishings retailer, and a software firm which he recently sold to a large publicly traded company. His investments in real estate are focused on in-town, irreplaceable properties that can be redeveloped to higher and better uses.

During its August 23 meeting, the Dunwoody City Council unanimously approved the nomination of Villard “Ardy” Bastien to fill the unexpired term of Pam Tallmadge in City Council Post 1.
And, at the 2021 Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce "MOXIE" awards, Lorri Christopher received the Greater Good Award for her fine work with the City of Peachtree Corners and beyond.
Our informational session for parents and students interested in the 2022-23 Rotary Youth Exchange scholarships takes place next Tuesday night, September 14 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Dunwoody. Applications for the are open now to high school students in District 6900, including children and grandchildren of Rotarians. This event is open to all - you must sign up in advance on the District 6900 page of the Florida Rotary Youth Exchange website.
Rotary Youth Exchange is shifting into gear to recruit outbound exchange students for the 2022-23 school year, and to recruit host families for our inbound student for that school year. Please direct any interested people to me, Deb Cameron, at dsc630@gmail.com. You can also direct people to the Rotary Youth Exchange website: ryese.org. (It helps if interested people know that we are in District 6900.)
We would love a few good volunteers from our club to help with recruiting and other activities related to Rotary Youth Exchange. You need to be an approved volunteer to interact with the inbound and outbound students – it is a U.S. State Department requirement. Becoming an approved volunteer involves a background check and a short state department training – all on line! Easy!!! Please let Deb know if you are willing to help with this amazing program.
Plan to join us this Saturday, September 12 from 9:00 AM to noon at the Dunwoody Nature Center. The Center needs all the volunteers itcan get to help with projects on the property - and your support can help us increase the impact we will have on the Dunwoody Nature Center.
The activities involve proper social distancing, but allow volunteers to be close enough to share encouragement and humor. Go to the Dunwoody Nature Center website to sign up and complete a volunteer waiver. Wear your Dunwoody Rotary shirt, bring your water and gloves, and plan to enjoy fellowship with your club members and other volunteers!
Also note that the Nature Center's premier fundraising gala, Monarchs & Margaritas, returns to the Dunwoody Nature Center Saturday, September 18th! Looks like you can register for that on the website too!
Here's a way to keep up with all that's happening with the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. If you would like to add an event - or add a story to the bulletin, send an email to Jackie Cuthbert at cuthbert@mindspring.com by Tuesday evening.
