This Week's Speaker
Abbi Diego, Prelude Bookstore

Join us this Friday at Maggiano's to welcome Abbi Diego, owner of Prelude Bookstore, located next to Valor Coffee in the Shops of Dunwoody.

Originally from Florida, Abbi has always been a bookworm at heart — raised by a librarian mom and a sci-fi-loving dad, she grew up surrounded by stories. She turned her love of words into a degree in English Literature, a Master’s in Children’s Public Librarianship, and countless hours spent volunteering among bookshelves. Abbi made her way to Dunwoody thanks to a charming guy who became her husband; today she is the mother of four and the happy owner of Prelude books.

Abbi said opening Prelude last October was an easy decision because the Dunwoody area was without an independently run bookstore. She loves the idea of people popping in with their coffees to search for a new book and tell about the books they are reading. The store carries about 7,000 books, with 60% adult books and 40% children’s books. The story also carries gifts and other merchandise.

Golf Tournament Update
Thanks for Your Support!

The fifth annual FORE! The Memories golf tournament was a success, raising approximately $50,000 for the Rotary Club of Dunwoody to use to help ease the burden of Alzheimer’s as well as various other charitable projects.  Please accept our sincere thank you for your individual contributions. The tournament is truly a joint effort coming from lots of directions; game day volunteers, committee heads, logistics, golfers, sponsors, donors… We could not have done it without you. We, in Rotary, live the motto “Service Above Self." Take a moment to congratulate yourself for joining in. It feels good, doesn’t it.

Thanks for Your Service
Dunwoody Supports Special Olympics Swimming

Some of our Rotary Club of Dunwoody members spent last Saturday morning doing something truly special - volunteering at the Special Olympics State swimming competition!
Watching these incredible athletes compete with such heart and determination is a reminder of why we serve. There are very few volunteer experiences that leave you feeling more grateful and inspired than this one. So proud of our members who showed up today ... and of the $5,000 we donated to support this effort. This is Rotary at its best.
