Ann Hanlon, Perimeter CIDs (PCIDs)

Join us this Friday at Maggiano's to welcome Ann Hanlon, Executive Director for the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts (PCIDs). In that role, Ann Hanlon is in charge of the organization’s daily operations, as well as its investments in transportation infrastructure.

The CIDs have an annual operating budget of over $8 million. Previously, Ann was the Executive Director of the North Fulton CID for 13 years, beginning when it was a start-up. Prior to entering the CID space, Ann served as a Senior Program Specialist at the Atlanta Regional Commission. [read more]

Three Service Projects and a Party

Sounds like a movie title but it's a busy weekend for the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. Look for stories later in this bulletin about:

• Our Bagel Rescue Project - helping get bagels to families in need - starting Saturday at 10 AM in the Anchor Place Respite Care room at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church - led by Rick Woods
• The Atlanta Down Syndrome Buddy Walk at Kennesaw State - from 8 AM to 2 PM Saturday - brought to us by new member Andrew Turner
• Big Game Night - Saturday from 3:00 - 7:30 PM, brought to us by our fellow Rotarians in the Rotary Club of Brookhaven, where they are volunteering to support Side-by-Side's program to help people recovering from brain injuries

The PARTY is Sunday, when we gather at Carter Stout's home to welcome our GRSP student Sebastian - starting at 4 pm.

Whiskey Fundraiser Update
It's Time to Show Us the Whiskey!

We need your help to close out our whiskey list!

Thank you to those who have contributed so far! We especially want to recognize cash donations, which will be a huge help in filling out our tasting. And thanks to Steve Dolinger for the beautiful glass that will be part of the tasting event!

At this time, we have only 6 of the 24 bottles on our list contributed. Please consider dropping by Dunwoody Beverage to take a bottle off that list or a monetary contribution this Friday. If you shop at Dunwoody Beverage, be sure to let them know you’re from Rotary! That’s the best way to avoid duplicate purchases and get a 10% gift from the store.

We’re particularly looking at scotch:

Join Us for the DSAA Buddy Walk on Saturday, October 3!

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody has a wonderful opportunity to support our community and make a meaningful impact. We are looking for volunteers to help out at the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta (DSAA) Buddy Walk on October 3 on the Kennesaw State University Marietta Campus!

The Buddy Walk is an amazing day filled with fun, games, and activities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. It also serves as DSAA’s main annual fundraiser, making volunteer support essential to ensure the event runs smoothly and successfully. Service Opportunity
Join Forces with Bagel Rescue - This Saturday (10/3)

We have an opportunity on Saturday, October 3, to join forces with Bagel Rescue to help out the Dunwoody community.  We need 20 volunteers for this two-hour project.  At 10:00 AM, Bagel Rescue will deliver a large load of bagels to Room 8 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church (4755 North Peachtree Road, Dunwoody - when you come into the parking lot, come along the left side of the buildings and look for the Anchor Place sign on the building wall). Our job is simple: pack the bagels into family-size bags of about one dozen each. Join Brookhaven Rotary to Help with Big Game Night for Side By Side

We are invited to join Brookhaven Rotary Club for a fun service opportunity on Saturday, October 3. Our club is confirmed to volunteer at the Big Game Night event hosted by Side By Side Clubhouse at Stone Ridge Event Center. Side by Side participants - men and women rebuilding their lives after brain injury - alongside their families, neighbors, and supporters from across the community.
