We are sad to note the passing of Sarah Cliatt Noblitt on January 9, 2026, in Dunwoody, Georgia, leaving behind a family who adored her and a legacy of quiet, steadfast love. Sarah was the proud mother of Stephanie Galvin and mother-in-law to Mark Galvin.
Mark shared the following tribute on Facebook this week:
Sarah's grandchildren, James Galvin, Caitlin Galvin Clark, and Claire Galvin, knew her as a grandmother who loved music and dancing in the kitchen, painting nails bright colors, eating Moose Tracks ice cream, watching golf and the Braves on TV, bird watching, working puzzles, and making spaghetti for dinner. She had a particular weakness for Boston Crème Pie toaster strudels and Stephanie's chocolate chip cookies.
Born in Asheville, North Carolina, Sarah moved to Bills Creek when she married Coleman Noblitt. Though she never learned to drive, that didn't slow her down one bit. She and her mother-in-law, Daisy Noblitt, ran a sandwich shop that became a destination, drawing loyal customers from miles around. At Bills Creek Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for years, shaping young hearts with the same warmth she brought to everything she did.
After Coleman's untimely death in 1997, Sarah eventually found companionship and joy with Graham Sinclaire, who preceded her in death in 2020. She was also preceded by her sister, Peggy Cliatt Hayes of Little Switzerland, North Carolina, and is survived by her sister, Judy Cliatt Burleson of Marion, North Carolina.”
Family and friends are invited to gather on January 14 at 5:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
The final internment will occur at Bills Creek Baptist Church on an undetermined date.
Please keep the Galvin and Noblitt families in your prayers.
