A year ago, we asked for donations in support of the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association plans to install a beautiful monument in Dunwoody’s Brook Run Park to honor both American and Vietnamese soldiers who fought and died in the Vietnam War. Between generous Rotarians and the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, we donated $5,000 to help make this special remembrance happen. You are invited to attend the dedication of the monument on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 am at Brook Run. Hope to see you there!
We're having a family party this Sunday afternoon, October 6, to celebrate Hoa and Bin - at Meghan Berry's home. Help us welcome our GRSP student from Vietnam and our Rotary Youth Exchange student from South Korea. Rotary will provide the main and beverages, families are invited to bring a side dish or dessert. We’ll have yard games and time to connect and enjoy the fall weather together.
Plan to join us at Meghan Berry's home (5101 Vernon Ridge Drive, Dunwoody, GA 30338) from 3-6 pm on Sunday Oct. 6. And if you haven't taken time to RSVP - do so now at http://evite.me/exWhp99ZSM
We have great opportunities ahead for fun and fellowship beyond this Sunday's Family of Rotary welcome party for our students. Mark your calendars and watch for details:
Join us for the 2024 Founders Celebration! The Rotary Club of Dunwoody has supported the Georgia Laws of Life Essay contest since its start - with George Stewart leading our efforts. This is a unique opportunity to support a powerful character education program that transforms students’ lives. The event takes place on October 17 at the Piedmont Driving Club from 6-8 pm. It will feature inspiring stories from students as they read their essays about how life's experience has shaped their characters, and how they have brought positive character values to their schools and communities.
Some of our members are already planning to attend - including George and Amy Stewart, Meredith Morris, and Ray Huebschmann. Your
attendance directly supports Georgia high schools and provides life-changing
opportunities for students. Explore sponsorships and tickets. The cost to attend the event is just $60, and you can register at Founders Celebration | Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest
