Reprogram your memory and your navigation system for this Friday, September 1, as we move our meetings to the AC Hotel's Bar Peri on the top floor. This will be our NEW location going forward. It's close to LeMeridien - set your navigation for AC Hotel by Marriott, Atlanta Perimeter, 40 Perimeter Center Place NE, Atlanta GA 30346. We met there for our first meeting in July and our Mardi Gras Thirsty Thursday earlier this year.
Mark Galvin serves as director of marketing for Discover Dunwoody, the destination marketing organization (DMO) responsible for promoting tourism within the thriving city located just north of Atlanta. He is also Dunwoody Rotary's Public Image Chair for the 2023-24 Rotary year and will share some thoughts in Friday's meeting about building our Club's Rotary brand.
His 30 years of experience from various hotel brands including InterContinental Hotel Group, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott® Hotels and Omni Hotels & Resorts, as well as from several independent hotels and resorts, well prepared him for this role. He began his hospitality career working in room operations, serving as front office manager and housekeeping director. Over the course of his hospitality career, Galvin focused on developing leaders, salespeople and strategic visions. [more]
You can enlist today for our upcoming day at the USO on September 21. You'll be upholding a long-time Dunwoody tradition. We need:
Cookies should be delivered to the E. 48th Street Market on 09/18 & 19th, 2023. All home baked cookies will be bagged on volunteer day and each bag will have a label that reads "Dear Soldier, Thank you for your service. Enjoy this small token of appreciation made especially for you with love and prayers." Rotary Club of Dunwoody
Please contact Charlie Augello (italian@e48thstreetmarket.com) to volunteer or bake cookies.
We look forward to another very rewarding day that Rotarians demonstrate “Service above Self"
We are looking to you to promote our club and help us attract new members, new sponsors, new speakers, and new friends. And we're ready to help you do that by getting you personal Rotary business cards - as long as you order through Dave Burr (davidthomasburr@gmail.com) by August 31. [more]
Know someone who might be interested in this year abroad high school experience? We are gearing up to identify outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students for the 2024-25 school year, and to identify potential sponsor clubs and families for inbound clubs. We're hoping to sponsor a student this year from Dunwoody High School - our first since the pandemic. We need your help in spreading the word about the opportunity to your neighbors and friends!
It all starts with an Information Session. Students who would like to learn more about the Rotary Youth Exchange scholarship program should attend an Information Session. Before submitting an application, students must participate in one of the Information Sessions together with at least one parent. (Rotarians welcome at these events - sign up at RYESE.org/district-6900/6900-application-info/
Applications are open now and due by October 15, 2023. We will reveal student selections on December 13, 2023. Contact Rick Woods (our Club Chair this year for RYE) or Mike Parks for more information.
