Three Top Things to Remember This Week

  1. Reset your GPS for Friday meetings - starting this week we will be at the Embassy Suites, 1030 Crown Point Parkway, Dunwoody.
  2. Next week, think college football and prospective members - Tony Barnhart will give us his annual assessment of what's to come in this year's college season. Bring a friend - especially one who might like to join our club.
  3. Think fun - check out the baseball game and theater opportunities brought to you by Ken Levy and the Dunwoody Diners in August and September.

This Week's Speaker
Nancy Longacre, Executive Director, Dunwoody Nature Center

Join us this Friday at the Embassy Suites, our new meeting place, to welcome Nancy Longacre, Executive Director of the Dunwoody Nature Center.

Nancy joined the Nature Center in August 2021 as the Executive Director. She has a B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University. Nancy started her career in corporate marketing before transitioning to nonprofit management. She has held leadership positions at several non-profits in Metro Atlanta. Nancy loves spending her free time hiking, traveling, being in nature and enjoying everything Metro Atlanta has to offer with family and friends.

As most of you know, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody has supported the Dunwoody Nature Center for many years - most recently under Cathie Brumfield's leadership. Over the years, we have done clean up, helped save the ferns and native plants, provided camp scholarships, painted the building and had great opportunities to involve our families in service and fun!

Anchor Place Respite
Float Decorations; Call for Volunteers

What a great service opportunity - Anchor Place Respite Dunwoody helped us with our July 4 float! Our friends at Anchor Place filled 32 bags of goodies for walkers to hand out to children, and constructed and decorated a part of the float and made stars to jazz up the float banner. Watch for more pictures next week of all who gathered to support our float and hot dog stand!

If you're a trained Anchor Place volunteer, take a minute to visit Sign Up Genius and add your name to help on a Monday or Thursday. Mary says it's always good to know you have people in place!
