Jeff Shaw is the Director of Rescue & Restoration at Atlanta Dream Center. Jeff received his B.A. in International Studies from Berry College and his J.D. from University of Georgia School of Law. Jeff enjoyed a successful law practice prior to starting Out of Darkness, the anti-trafficking ministry of Atlanta Dream Center, in 2011.
Club Small Group Meetings
Your Ideas Needed: Small Group Discussions about Dunwoody Rotary
As we formally announced in last Friday’s meeting, we are embarking on a series of small group discussions with club members to gather more of your thoughts about the Rotary Club of Dunwoody – to learn more about what you value and how you perceive everything from our service initiatives to fund-raising, meetings and events, Family of Rotary, and the way we communicate.
Why are we doing this? It's good practice for every Rotary Club – every one of us – to stop and take stock of what we’re doing, what’s valuable, what’s important, what needs to change. That’s why we sent out a survey last year. And while the survey gave us some good information – it also strongly suggested a need for small group conversations as we look at the best ways to continue providing value to our members – and serve Rotary’s goals to make a significant difference in our communities and the world.
How can you help? By registering to attend a session … and investing a couple of hours in one of these group conversations. We have opened registration on the web site for four sessions (Feb. 20, 21 and Mar. 6, 8) and will be adding more over the next few days. To register, please go to https://dunwoodyrotary.org/v2/calendar/view and click on one of the dates that shows “Small Group Discussion about Dunwoody Rotary” and add your name. We’re limiting the size of each group to allow for good productive conversations. We will schedule enough sessions so that everyone may join us. Your attendance will count as a make-up.

NEW GEORGIA ROTARY STUDENT PROGRAMSTRATEGIC STUDY
The Georgia Rotary Student Program has invited the Fanning Institute to assist us in strategic planning. We are optimistic that all aspects of the program will be reviewed with solutions to some of our most pressing problems and a plan for the future. As part of that process:
JOIN US FOR ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (RLI)
The Rotary Club of Tucker will host an RLI event on March 10, 2018 - Parts 1, 2, 3 and a Grad Course in The Rotary Foundation will be offered, registrations permitting. Tucker Middle School will be the location. Registration check-in begins at 7am with breakfast and the event is from 8 am to 3:15 pm. The cost is $100.00 per course.
RLI is all about giving you the necessary tools and skills to be better Rotarians. As in every endeavor, the more you know about anything, the more interesting it becomes. Rotary is most assuredly one of those areas that the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. RLI can make that possible for you. Graduates of RLI are more likely to remain in, and be a bigger part of Rotary, than any other demographic.

Laws of Life Essay State Finalist Judges Needed
Our Club has been invited to provide up to 6 judges to read and rank State Finalist Laws of Life essays. Around March 16, each judge will be emailed 15 to 20 essays to read and return their rankings within 7 days.
Volunteers may register by:
