Peace Pole at Bounds Garden

We decided to make a peace pole and install it in a traffic island across from the Dunwoody Library.  We maintain this island throughout the year and ensure that it adds beauty to the area.  We plan to install the Peace Pole on Saturday April 19.  In addition to our membership and District representatives, we will invite our Rotary Youth Exchange Students and our Georgia Rotary Student Program participants, and the Vietnam memorial committee to the dedication.  The languages on the pole will include English, Russian, Persian, and Chinese.

We hope to install a second peace pole in Brook Run Park near the Vietnam Veterans memorial that honors all those who served in Vietnam.  We contributed $5000 to the establishment of this memorial and many of our members were present for the dedication ceremony.  We want this peace pole to include languages re-presenting the countries that fought in Vietnam.
