Remembering Former Member Bill Kelly

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody learned this week of the passing of former member and now Buckhead Rotarian Bill Kelly. His obituary opened by saying Bill never took for granted what mattered most in his life and what he was blessed to have: a loving family and, later in life, the rewards of service.

As a CPA, Bill had a successful career in banking. After retiring from banking in 2021, Bill continued to rise at 6:30 a.m. to volunteer for The Cathedral of St. Philip, where he was a member for many years, as well as Rotary, Club RCA (Respite Care Atlanta), Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Open Hand. In Dunwoody Rotary, he was involved in a variety of things, including the Dunwoody Nature Center (in the center of picture above) and District 6900’s Global Grant Scholar Committee. His most recent visit to our club was last fall as he helped to host a Global Grant Scholar candidate.

Bill is survived by Cathie, his wife of 38 years, his two sons and three brothers. You can read more about Bill's life at Legacy.com.

A service of celebration for Bill's life will be held Monday, January 27 at 2 p.m. at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta GA 30305 (Buckhead). Visitation in Child Hall will follow. A gift in Bill's memory may be made to The Cathedral of St. Philip or cathedralATL.org
