A heartfelt thank you to volunteers and bakers for your incredible support during our April 10 USO Volunteer day. Your dedication helped make the day a tremendous success, and your efforts truly made a difference for our service personnel. Retired Colonel Paul Brisson wrote, “I very much enjoyed my lunch and rest today at the ATL USO. Thank you for supporting.”
It was an immensely rewarding experience to serve our brave men and women as they stopped by the USO Hartsfield for a much-needed rest and lunch before continuing on to their important assignments to help protect our beautiful nation. The lunch spread was a hit, featuring hot dogs with all the fixings, energy bars, bottled water, bananas, and delicious homemade cookies, along with baked ziti and meatballs.
Thank you to each of you who volunteered and baked. Your contributions and hard work are invaluable, and I encourage more of our friends and fellow Rotarians to join us in supporting the USO. Together, we can continue to provide comfort and care to those who serve. Please take a moment to check out the attached photo from the day. It’s a reminder of the smiles we created together.
This past week, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody and the East 48th Street Market and its customers made a $2,000 donation to Marley Lou Austin, President of USO Georgia, to help it continue to do the good work of supporting our military, their families, and our veterans. Since 2009, RCD, the East 48th Steet Market and in-kind vendors have donated $50,000 in cash and in-kind services.
Thanks once again for your commitment and passion. I look forward to even more participants on our next volunteer day.
