In her inaugural speech, new Roswell Rotary President Leslie Bassett expressed her mission for our Rotarians to become more deeply connected and issued “The Connections Challenge.” Meant to encourage communication, collaboration and understanding, the challenge could also result in free dues for a year.
Each week, Bassett will issue a new challenge to make an intentional and meaningful connection and send a photo in as proof. Each submission counts as one entry into a drawing at the end of the year to win a year’s worth of Rotary dues paid.
The connections could be a number of different things including sending a letter, card or e-mail of encouragement and gratitude to a law enforcement officer or visiting one of Roswell’s parks or green spaces. Her first challenge was to connect with each other.
She challenged us to sit down with another Roswell Rotarian for a coffee and learn why they joined Rotary, why they stay, and what this club means to them. Roswell Rotarians took this to heart and throughout the week, the Roswell Rotary Facebook page was flooded with pictures of Rotarians meeting out in the community.
