On Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody and our Rotary partners hosted the annual GRSP Leadership Conference. This year's weekend (#15 for Dunwoody) opened Friday at the Atlanta History Center, with a tour of Cyclorama and the Civil War exhibit, and continued with escape room fun and pizza at Breakout Games. On Saturday, students participated in a very interactive workshop on Courageous Leadership, led by Michael Sutton of the Rotary Club of Roswell, assembled water filters for the non-profit Wine to Water, learned about Effective Presentations (Michael Sutton) and Toxic Charities (Anne Hallum, AIR Guatemala), and participated in a team-building exercise (led by Warren Turner, President of RC Atlanta Metro). On Saturday night, students and host families enjoyed dinners at one of three Dunwoody Rotarians' homes. Sunday was the traditional Shark Tank - led by the Rotaract Club of Atlanta - where students formed teams to create ideas for sustainable service projects.
Based on student evaluations, we were pleased with the weekend's outcomes.
We would like to thank GRSP and all of our Rotary partners who made this weekend possible:
