This month, Rotary International focuses on Vocational Service - asking members to represent their occupations within their clubs and to exemplify the ideals of
Rotary in their places of work. There are many ways you can bring your vocation to Rotary's work and add to the value of your Rotary membership. Consider:

  • Volunteering to bring your skills and talents to bear on a service project with your club
  • Joining a Rotary Action Group - and lending your skills and support to service projects around the world (visit rotary.org/actiongroups). You can read about one of those Action Groups in this newsletter, as we share a story from the Rotary Service Blog about RFHA, an action group started right here in District 6900.
  • Joining or starting a Rotary Fellowship - Right here in District 6900, you can be part of the Rotary Means Business fellowship; see the article later in the newsletter. You may also choose to join an international group of Rotarians,
  • family members, and program participants and alumni who share
You can also share the value of Rotary with friends and business associates - by inviting them to attend a meeting, fellowship or service event to learn more about what we do and the difference we can make working together.
And making a difference we are. As we start 2022 - halfway through this Rotary Year, I am proud of what you all have achieved so far and want to share our progress toward some key goals:
Service: With just 12 clubs reporting their completed projects in Rotary Club
Central so far, our work involved 2168 volunteers - with a total of 8883 hours and $75,690 invested in these projects. That's just under 20% of our clubs; think of what the numbers would show if all clubs reported all the good work we're doing.
Membership: You should all know by now that "Grow More (so we can) Do More" means a lot to our RI President and to me - membership is critical to all we can accomplish. Our Rotary Foundation Giving: I appreciate the 29 clubs who submitted their Polio Plus goals for the year - and especially the clubs who have already met those goals - Carrollton Dawnbreakers, East Cobb, Griffin Daybreak, LaGrange, Marietta, Meriwether County, Moultrie, Muscogee-Columbus, North Atlanta, North Columbus, Roswell, Smyrna, Thomasville, Tucker and Vinings Cumberland. Thanks also to the 515 individuals who have given at least $100 in support of The Rotary Foundation this year - considered Sustaining Members for the Rotary Foundation.  
I appreciate all that each and every one of you is doing to help Rotary make a difference in our communities and the world. Keep up the good work!
