RLI Update
RLI: Your Ticket to Great Rotary Information

The 2021-2022 Rotary Year has been great for RLI in District 6900.  We have been able to host three in-person events and are scheduled for a fourth on May 14 in Columbus, Georgia.  I am grateful for the support of the Presidents, Assistant Governors, and District Governor Mary Ligon in making RLI a priority in District 6900.  Our host clubs – Barnesville, Thomasville and Peachtree City – have made each of the in-person events a success.  Without the assistance of the host clubs there could be no in-person RLI. Our Discussion Leaders are first rate, and we have also been able to pull in Discussion Leaders from District 6920 in Georgia, and even a couple of great facilitators from Florida.

The Sunshine Division of Rotary Leadership Institute, thanks in large part to PDG Margie Kersey, rolled out online RLI in 2020, and it has been very successful.  If you are interested in RLI, but cannot attend an in-person event, online RLI is for you.  Parts 1, 2 and 3 are available in one to two hour Zoom meetings.  It is a great opportunity to virtually meet Rotarians from all over Georgia, Florida, and the Caribbean. Online RLI courses are offered at various times, with each session being offered once or twice each month.

As successful as RLI has been via Zoom, there is just nothing like our in-person events. I would like to encourage you to register for our May 14 event, which is hosted by the North Columbus Rotary Club.  RLI Discussion Leader Tracy Van Norman has been instrumental in arranging the event, which will be held at Columbus Technical College.  We are planning to hold Parts 1, 2 and 3, and Graduate Membership.  If you’ve attended RLI online you can still come to an in-person event.  If you have finished Part One online, you are eligible to move on to Part Two.  If you have finished Parts One and Two online, you are eligible to attend Part Three.  And if you’ve graduated from RLI online, we would welcome you our Graduate course.

Registration is open for Columbus on May 14, as well as dozens of online opportunities. I hope to see you online, or even better in Columbus, Georgia on May 14.  Head over to www.rlitraining.org  and register for RLI. Don’t miss these awesome opportunities to grow as a Rotarian and a leader.
